The auction will run like this; below you will see details of the auction ‘Package’. These are all the elements included within the package and those upon which you are invited to place a bid. In its current form it will certainly ensure that a wonderful wedding day is enjoyed by all, made even more so in the knowledge that the winning couple have made a tremendously generous donation to such an important cause. The current highest bid is shown, in Pounds Sterling. The highest bid will be posted here on this page, allowing everyone to see the current status of the auction. Auction In Aid Of Great Ormond Street Hospital For Sick Children

During the summer of 2010 we were contacted by Laurence’s cousin Lisa, who was organising a fund raising event in aid of a foundation set up in honour of her father who had sadly passed away after a long illness. Lisa told us how she planned to approach a number of reputable businesses (Tiffany & House of Fraser to name but a few) in order to see if they would be willing to donate prizes to be offered at a charity fete she was busy organising in order to raise funds. Aware that we would be unable to attend as the fete was due to held during the summer months, Lisa asked us if we would be able to donate something to the list of prizes on offer by way of making a contribution. After discussing it between ourselves, and consulting our regular suppliers, we decided to provide a ‘De Luxe’ wedding package to be offered for auction during the fete. The package we came up with consisted of our own ‘Wedding Day Package’ and some associated goodies from our long standing partners. They were only to happy to help wherever possible and they certainly did us proud, offering photographic packages, floristry arrangements, a beautiful wedding cake and a number of other elements in order to be able to offer a marvellous auction item for potential Brides and Grooms to bid for.

The charity fete and auction went ahead as planned and we are really pleased to be able to say that the ‘Lindos Weddings Package’ on offer proved to be very popular, attracting a flurry of bids before finally being won by one lucky (and generous) Groom to be, accompanied by a very excited Bride to be. We were really pleased to hear that the package had sold and were bowled over when we learned just   how much the winning bid amounted to. Within a couple of days we had contacted the happy couple and set in motion the first stages of planning their wedding here in Rhodes for last summer (2011).

The success of the auction has now led us to the decision to once again offer a version of it for next year. This time it will be run from here, our own web site and open to all of our 2013 couples wishing to place a bid.

 This  year’s beneficiary will be the   Great Ormond Street hospital, the   World famous children’s hospital   based in London. Great Ormond   Street was founded in 1852 and is   renowned for leading the way in   combating many childhood illnesses   and helping sick and injured children   from all over the world look forward   to a brighter future. It also offers   comfort and support to parents and   families trying to cope with the upset   and turmoil of caring for a   desperately ill child. We do hope that   you agree that it would be worthy   cause, certainly deserving of all the   help it can get.
